Yes , our by-laws state that before bargaining begins the membership must be surveyed. Once the survey is done the Bargaining Committee must then compile the information and create a set of proposals to bring to the bargaining table. The proposals must first be ratified at a special membership meeting before bargaining begins.
Yes. You should always request a Steward to accompany you to ANY meeting with Supervision or Management even if the meeting is not a discipline meeting. If the company is requesting that you go for a D&A test call ANY Steward to come with you.
